Transport® Endoscopic Access Device - Retroflex
The TransPort® provides stable access to the operating site via a natural orifice. The TransPort is designed to handle comfortably and steer precisely, with the familiar controls of a conventional endoscope, allowing you to visualize the operating site and any instruments in use.
Once in place, the TransPort creates the multitasking platform needed to perform complex, two‐handed surgical maneuvers. For example, the TransPort has four large working channels, which are compatible with endoscopes and endosurgical instruments. The large channels allow users to deploy an endoscope and use up to three tools simultaneously. Plus, the lumens allow rapid instrument exchanges that are needed during complex procedures.
One of the most important features of the platform is the ability to use robust instruments and transmit forces precisely and efficiently. The TransPort's capacity for larger diameter instruments allows the surgeon to transmit effective forces to the target site; torque, traction, dissection, and more are now possible with flexible instruments. Importantly, the design of the TransPort provides the ability to move the endoscope relative to the surgical instruments during the procedure. Therefore, horizon leveling and unprecedented viewing angles are now possible for incisionless surgery.
Other examples of the TransPort's advantages are the steering wheel locks, surgical tool locks, and the insufflation capability. The wheel and tool locks on the TransPort give you the convenience of locking your position and the confidence that your platform will be stable during a procedure. Similarly, the platform facilitates CO2 insufflation, improving visualization and patient comfort.
